# Tomstrails GPS UTM vs UTM Geo Map Y2Tech

The clearest difference is rating: Tomstrails GPS UTM at 4.8 against UTM Geo Map Y2Tech's 3.8. Tomstrails GPS UTM also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (1.6K vs 4). UTM Geo Map Y2Tech's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 weeks) and review sentiment (100% vs 84%). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tomstrails GPS UTM sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and UTM Geo Map Y2Tech sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Tomstrails GPS UTM holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tomstrails GPS UTM has 1.6K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Tomstrails GPS UTM ships an update every 6 weeks, UTM Geo Map Y2Tech fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
