# Flight Simulator Night Fly vs Flight Simulator

The clearest difference is rating: Flight Simulator at 4.1 against Flight Simulator Night Fly's 3.1. Flight Simulator also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 60 months) and ratings volume (4.6K vs 350). Flight Simulator Night Fly's advantage is review sentiment (30% vs 17%) and monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs paid). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Flight Simulator Night Fly sells 12 one-off in-app purchases and Flight Simulator sells 12 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Flight Simulator holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Flight Simulator has 4.6K ratings behind it against 350, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 30% of Flight Simulator Night Fly's written reviews are positive against 17% of Flight Simulator's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Flight Simulator Night Fly ships an update every 60 months, Flight Simulator fortnightly. Both last shipped on September 30, 2026.
