# Echo E vs Main

The clearest difference is rating: Main at 4.6 against Echo E's 3.7. Main also leads on ratings volume (22 vs 3) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.6). Echo E's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 7 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Echo E sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $11.99 per month and Main sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Main holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Main has 22 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 64% of Echo E's written reviews are positive against 50% of Main's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Echo E ships an update every 5 weeks, Main every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
