# Fishbowl vs Shift4 4Sight

The clearest difference is monetization model: Shift4 4Sight at free against Fishbowl's free with in-app purchases. Shift4 4Sight also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months) and rating (4.8 vs 4.6). Fishbowl's advantage is ratings volume (23K vs 5) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Shift4 4Sight holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Fishbowl has 23K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Fishbowl ships an update every 2 months, Shift4 4Sight fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
