# Private Browser Deluxe vs Float

The clearest difference is update cadence: Float at every 4 days against Private Browser Deluxe's every 3 months. Float also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.5) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). Private Browser Deluxe's advantage is review sentiment (81% vs 64%). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Private Browser Deluxe sells 18 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days and Float sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Float holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 14K and 8.9K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 81% of Private Browser Deluxe's written reviews are positive against 64% of Float's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Private Browser Deluxe ships an update every 3 months, Float every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
