# ADT Alert vs tedee

The clearest difference is monetization model: ADT Alert at free against tedee's paid. ADT Alert also leads on iOS requirement (9.0 vs 16.0). tedee's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 5 months) and rating (4.7 vs 4.3). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

tedee holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: tedee has 397 ratings behind it against 67, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 31% of ADT Alert's written reviews are positive against 53% of tedee's.

ADT Alert ships an update every 5 months, tedee every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 17, 2026.
