# Solfeggio vs EarMaster

The clearest difference is ratings volume: EarMaster at 429 against Solfeggio's 19. Solfeggio's advantage is iOS requirement (9.0 vs 15.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Solfeggio sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and EarMaster sells 22 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.4 for Solfeggio against 4.6 for EarMaster. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: EarMaster has 429 ratings behind it against 19, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 74% of Solfeggio's written reviews are positive against 81% of EarMaster's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 26, 2026.
