# SJ5000PLUS vs AKASO

The clearest difference is rating: AKASO at 4.4 against SJ5000PLUS's 2.3. AKASO also leads on update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 7 months) and ratings volume (196 vs 3). SJ5000PLUS's advantage is review sentiment (27% vs 17%) and iOS requirement (7.0 vs 14). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

AKASO holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 2.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AKASO has 196 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 27% of SJ5000PLUS's written reviews are positive against 17% of AKASO's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SJ5000PLUS ships an update every 7 months, AKASO every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
