# Bold Type Tickets Scanner vs Tommy's Express

The clearest difference is rating: Tommy's Express at 4.6 against Bold Type Tickets Scanner's 2.5. Tommy's Express also leads on update cadence (every 9 days vs every 7 months) and ratings volume (5.7K vs 2). Bold Type Tickets Scanner's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and review sentiment (50% vs 28%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Tommy's Express holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 2.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tommy's Express has 5.7K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Bold Type Tickets Scanner's written reviews are positive against 28% of Tommy's Express's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Bold Type Tickets Scanner ships an update every 7 months, Tommy's Express every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
