# Bold Type Tickets Scanner vs Speed Queen

The clearest difference is rating: Speed Queen at 4.8 against Bold Type Tickets Scanner's 2.5. Speed Queen also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 7 months) and ratings volume (24K vs 2). Bold Type Tickets Scanner's advantage is review sentiment (50% vs 42%) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 16.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Speed Queen holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 2.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Speed Queen has 24K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Bold Type Tickets Scanner's written reviews are positive against 42% of Speed Queen's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Bold Type Tickets Scanner ships an update every 7 months, Speed Queen fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 6, 2026 respectively.
