# TheaterEars vs SB Multimedios

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: SB Multimedios at none against TheaterEars's 6. SB Multimedios also leads on iOS requirement (12.1 vs 15.0). TheaterEars's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 88 months) and ratings volume (49K vs 4). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TheaterEars sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. SB Multimedios asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for TheaterEars against 5.0 for SB Multimedios. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TheaterEars has 49K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.
