# TheaterEars vs St. Cloud Twin

The clearest difference is rating: TheaterEars at 4.9 against St. Cloud Twin's 4.0. TheaterEars also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 13 months) and ratings volume (59K vs 5). St. Cloud Twin's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 61%) and in-app purchases (none vs 6). On price, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TheaterEars sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. St. Cloud Twin asks for nothing beyond the download.

TheaterEars holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TheaterEars has 59K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 61% of TheaterEars's written reviews are positive against 100% of St. Cloud Twin's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

TheaterEars ships an update every 2 weeks, St. Cloud Twin every 13 months. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
