# Sun Facts vs Avycast

The clearest difference is ads: Avycast at none against Sun Facts's shown. Avycast also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 18.6). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Sun Facts sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Avycast sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Sun Facts ships an update every 2 months, Avycast weekly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
