# Train Snake vs PicWords 2

The clearest difference is review sentiment: PicWords 2 at 82% against Train Snake's 33%. PicWords 2 also leads on ratings volume (248 vs 1). Train Snake's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (weekly vs every 7 months). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Train Snake sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and PicWords 2 sells 8 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Train Snake holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PicWords 2 has 248 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of Train Snake's written reviews are positive against 82% of PicWords 2's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Train Snake ships an update weekly, PicWords 2 every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
