# Complete Ear Trainer vs OnKey Lite

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: OnKey Lite at none against Complete Ear Trainer's 3. OnKey Lite also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 85%) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 17.5). Complete Ear Trainer's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (202 vs 2). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Complete Ear Trainer sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. OnKey Lite asks for nothing beyond the download.

Complete Ear Trainer holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Complete Ear Trainer has 202 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 85% of Complete Ear Trainer's written reviews are positive against 100% of OnKey Lite's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Complete Ear Trainer ships an update every 2 weeks, OnKey Lite every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
