# Cams for Dropcam vs Security Home

The clearest difference is price: Security Home at Free against Cams for Dropcam's $2.99. Security Home also leads on rating (4.3 vs 2.3) and ratings volume (11K vs 18). Cams for Dropcam's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 7) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 15.0). On review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Security Home is free to download; Cams for Dropcam costs $2.99 up front. Security Home sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Cams for Dropcam asks for nothing beyond the download.

Security Home holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 2.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Security Home has 11K ratings behind it against 18, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 25% of Cams for Dropcam's written reviews are positive against 19% of Security Home's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
