# QR Pro vs Universal QR

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: QR Pro at none against Universal QR's 1. QR Pro also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (29K vs 2). Universal QR's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs weekly). On price, rating and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Universal QR sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. QR Pro asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for QR Pro against 4.5 for Universal QR. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: QR Pro has 29K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 73% of QR Pro's written reviews are positive against 50% of Universal QR's.

QR Pro ships an update weekly, Universal QR every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
