# QR Pro vs QR

The clearest difference is rating: QR Pro at 4.5 against QR's 4.0. QR Pro also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 18 months) and ratings volume (29K vs 6). QR's advantage is review sentiment (83% vs 72%) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 15.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

QR Pro holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: QR Pro has 29K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 72% of QR Pro's written reviews are positive against 83% of QR's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

QR Pro ships an update weekly, QR every 18 months. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and August 17, 2026 respectively.
