# QR Pro vs QR Scanner

The clearest difference is update cadence: QR Pro at weekly against QR Scanner's every 12 months. QR Pro also leads on ratings volume (29K vs 245) and device support (7 vs 3). QR Scanner's advantage is review sentiment (82% vs 73%) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 15.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for QR Pro against 4.4 for QR Scanner. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: QR Pro has 29K ratings behind it against 245, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 73% of QR Pro's written reviews are positive against 82% of QR Scanner's.

QR Pro ships an update weekly, QR Scanner every 12 months. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
