# QR Pro vs QR Code Scanner

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: QR Pro at none against QR Code Scanner's 4. QR Pro also leads on ratings volume (29K vs 15) and review sentiment (73% vs 56%). QR Code Scanner's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.5). On price, update cadence, ads and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. QR Code Scanner sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. QR Pro asks for nothing beyond the download.

QR Code Scanner holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: QR Pro has 29K ratings behind it against 15, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 73% of QR Pro's written reviews are positive against 56% of QR Code Scanner's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

QR Pro ships an update weekly, QR Code Scanner every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
