# The Deer God vs Potion Permit

The clearest difference is rating: Potion Permit at 4.5 against The Deer God's 4.1. Potion Permit also leads on ratings volume (553 vs 52) and chart position (#64 vs unranked). The Deer God's advantage is price ($4.99 vs $6.99) and iOS requirement (6.0 vs 15.0). On review sentiment, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

The Deer God costs $4.99 and Potion Permit $6.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Potion Permit holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Potion Permit has 553 ratings behind it against 52, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 45% of The Deer God's written reviews are positive against 40% of Potion Permit's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
