# Daily Express Newspaper vs Hull Live

The clearest difference is monetization model: Hull Live at freemium against Daily Express Newspaper's subscription. Hull Live also leads on update cadence (monthly vs every 4 months) and rating (4.8 vs 4.5). Daily Express Newspaper's advantage is ads (none vs shown). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Daily Express Newspaper sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Hull Live sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Hull Live holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 24 and 24 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 35% of Daily Express Newspaper's written reviews are positive against 31% of Hull Live's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Daily Express Newspaper ships an update every 4 months, Hull Live monthly. Both last shipped on November 6, 2026.
