# Avid Control vs UMPT

The clearest difference is review sentiment: UMPT at 100% against Avid Control's 34%. UMPT also leads on rating (5.0 vs 2.7) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 3 months). Avid Control's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ratings volume (70 vs 3). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. UMPT sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $2.99 per month. Avid Control asks for nothing beyond the download.

UMPT holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Avid Control has 70 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 34% of Avid Control's written reviews are positive against 100% of UMPT's.

Avid Control ships an update every 3 months, UMPT every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
