# My Tello vs OV Loop

The clearest difference is rating: My Tello at 4.3 against OV Loop's 3.8. My Tello also leads on ratings volume (1.9K vs 30) and chart position (#155 vs unranked). OV Loop's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

My Tello holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: My Tello has 1.9K ratings behind it against 30, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 46% of My Tello's written reviews are positive against 57% of OV Loop's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

My Tello ships an update every 3 weeks, OV Loop every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
