# Sphero Edu vs LeARn Lab

The clearest difference is monetization model: LeARn Lab at free against Sphero Edu's free with in-app purchases. Sphero Edu's advantage is ratings volume (1.5K vs 7). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for Sphero Edu against 4.4 for LeARn Lab. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sphero Edu has 1.5K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Sphero Edu ships an update every 5 weeks, LeARn Lab every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
