# PRessr. vs Back40

The clearest difference is update cadence: Back40 at every 10 days against PRessr.'s every 3 weeks. Back40 also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 18.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PRessr. sells 6 one-off in-app purchases and Back40 sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PRessr. ships an update every 3 weeks, Back40 every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
