# Cloud Outliner vs Blackmount

The clearest difference is rating: Blackmount at 5.0 against Cloud Outliner's 4.5. Blackmount also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 months). Cloud Outliner's advantage is ratings volume (751 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Cloud Outliner sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Blackmount sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Blackmount holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Cloud Outliner has 751 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Cloud Outliner ships an update every 6 months, Blackmount fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
