# My BarTunes vs Bar Exam Prep

The clearest difference is monetization model: My BarTunes at free with in-app purchases against Bar Exam Prep's subscription. My BarTunes also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.0). Bar Exam Prep's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.2) and update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 14 months). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. My BarTunes sells 8 one-off in-app purchases and Bar Exam Prep sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Bar Exam Prep holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 5 and 3 respectively.

My BarTunes ships an update every 14 months, Bar Exam Prep every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and September 21, 2026 respectively.
