# Hummus Kitchen vs Carrot Express

The clearest difference is rating: Hummus Kitchen at 4.7 against Carrot Express's 3.1. Hummus Kitchen also leads on iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.1). Carrot Express's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 9 months). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Hummus Kitchen holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Carrot Express has 171 ratings behind it against 16, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of Hummus Kitchen's written reviews are positive against 19% of Carrot Express's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Hummus Kitchen ships an update every 9 months, Carrot Express every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 4, 2026.
