# Block & Flow vs Pomodoro & Focus Timer

The clearest difference is monetization model: Block & Flow at free with in-app purchases against Pomodoro & Focus Timer's subscription. Block & Flow also leads on ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (72% vs 47%). Pomodoro & Focus Timer's advantage is rating (4.3 vs 3.9) and device support (4 vs 2). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Block & Flow sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per month and Pomodoro & Focus Timer sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Pomodoro & Focus Timer holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.9. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 77 and 88 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 72% of Block & Flow's written reviews are positive against 47% of Pomodoro & Focus Timer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Block & Flow ships an update every 3 weeks, Pomodoro & Focus Timer every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
