# Notes and Lists with Totals vs Sci

The clearest difference is price: Notes and Lists with Totals at Free against Sci's $3.99. Notes and Lists with Totals also leads on review sentiment (81% vs 56%) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months). Sci's advantage is rating (4.0 vs 2.9) and in-app purchases (none vs 1). On ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Notes and Lists with Totals is free to download; Sci costs $3.99 up front. Notes and Lists with Totals sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Sci asks for nothing beyond the download.

Sci holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 2.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sci has 48 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 81% of Notes and Lists with Totals's written reviews are positive against 56% of Sci's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Notes and Lists with Totals ships an update every 3 weeks, Sci every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
