# Microsoft Translator vs OfflineVideo

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Microsoft Translator at none against OfflineVideo's 1. Microsoft Translator also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.4) and ratings volume (158K vs 19). OfflineVideo's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 6 weeks) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. OfflineVideo sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Microsoft Translator asks for nothing beyond the download.

Microsoft Translator holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Microsoft Translator has 158K ratings behind it against 19, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 44% of Microsoft Translator's written reviews are positive against 43% of OfflineVideo's.

Microsoft Translator ships an update every 6 weeks, OfflineVideo every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 7, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
