# Top English vs Thea

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Top English at none against Thea's 2. Thea's advantage is ratings volume (2.6K vs 3) and update cadence (monthly vs every 2 months). On price, rating, ads and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Thea sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $12.00 per month. Top English asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Top English against 4.9 for Thea. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Thea has 2.6K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Top English ships an update every 2 months, Thea monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
