# CampusShield vs Safe Dog

The clearest difference is rating: Safe Dog at 4.7 against CampusShield's 4.3. CampusShield's advantage is ratings volume (90 vs 12). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Safe Dog holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CampusShield has 90 ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 55% of CampusShield's written reviews are positive against 50% of Safe Dog's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
