# Alice's Patchwork Free vs Thread Jam

The clearest difference is ads: Alice's Patchwork Free at none against Thread Jam's shown. Alice's Patchwork Free also leads on iOS requirement (6.0 vs 15.0). Thread Jam's advantage is ratings volume (12K vs 9) and rating (4.8 vs 4.6). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Alice's Patchwork Free sells 11 one-off in-app purchases and Thread Jam sells 13 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Thread Jam holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Thread Jam has 12K ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 60% of Alice's Patchwork Free's written reviews are positive against 52% of Thread Jam's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
