# Red Scarf vs Flannels

The clearest difference is monetization model: Red Scarf at free against Flannels's free with in-app purchases. Flannels's advantage is review sentiment (84% vs 71%) and ratings volume (427 vs 44). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Red Scarf against 4.8 for Flannels. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Flannels has 427 ratings behind it against 44, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 71% of Red Scarf's written reviews are positive against 84% of Flannels's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
