# Zmodo vs HeimSmart

The clearest difference is rating: Zmodo at 2.0 against HeimSmart's 1.1. Zmodo also leads on ratings volume (3.7K vs 19) and update cadence (every 8 days vs every 5 weeks). HeimSmart's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 10) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 15.1). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Zmodo sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. HeimSmart asks for nothing beyond the download.

Zmodo holds the better App Store score, 2.0 against 1.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Zmodo has 3.7K ratings behind it against 19, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 6% of Zmodo's written reviews are positive against 14% of HeimSmart's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Zmodo ships an update every 8 days, HeimSmart every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
