# SBS vs Kiwi+

The clearest difference is monetization model: SBS at free with in-app purchases against Kiwi+'s subscription. SBS also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 5 months) and review sentiment (17% vs 8%). Kiwi+'s advantage is ads (none vs shown) and rating (2.1 vs 1.8). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SBS sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Kiwi+ sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Kiwi+ holds the better App Store score, 2.1 against 1.8. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 102 and 103 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 17% of SBS's written reviews are positive against 8% of Kiwi+'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SBS ships an update every 3 weeks, Kiwi+ every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
