# Terminal Buddy vs FlightStatus

The clearest difference is price: Terminal Buddy at Free against FlightStatus's $4.99. Terminal Buddy also leads on rating (4.4 vs 3.7) and ratings volume (127 vs 11). FlightStatus's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 7 months). On review sentiment, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Terminal Buddy is free to download; FlightStatus costs $4.99 up front. Terminal Buddy sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per year. FlightStatus asks for nothing beyond the download.

Terminal Buddy holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Terminal Buddy has 127 ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 65% of Terminal Buddy's written reviews are positive against 67% of FlightStatus's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Terminal Buddy ships an update every 7 months, FlightStatus every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
