# FTP Client vs EZ File Explorer

The clearest difference is rating: EZ File Explorer at 3.8 against FTP Client's 3.2. EZ File Explorer also leads on update cadence (every 10 days vs every 2 months). FTP Client's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and review sentiment (31% vs 0%). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FTP Client sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and EZ File Explorer sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

EZ File Explorer holds the better App Store score, 3.8 against 3.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 58 and 61 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 31% of FTP Client's written reviews are positive against 0% of EZ File Explorer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

FTP Client ships an update every 2 months, EZ File Explorer every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
