# OCR Instantly vs App Locker

The clearest difference is rating: App Locker at 5.0 against OCR Instantly's 4.4. OCR Instantly's advantage is monetization model (free vs freemium) and ratings volume (10 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. OCR Instantly sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and App Locker sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

App Locker holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: OCR Instantly has 10 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

OCR Instantly ships an update every 2 weeks, App Locker every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 22, 2026 and September 20, 2026 respectively.
