# TransKey vs Language Translator

The clearest difference is ads: TransKey at none against Language Translator's shown. TransKey also leads on ratings volume (13K vs 118). Language Translator's advantage is review sentiment (94% vs 77%). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TransKey sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and Language Translator sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.4 for TransKey against 4.4 for Language Translator. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TransKey has 13K ratings behind it against 118, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 77% of TransKey's written reviews are positive against 94% of Language Translator's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
