# TransKey vs Translator

The clearest difference is review sentiment: TransKey at 77% against Translator's 40%. TransKey also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (13K vs 2.4K). Translator's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.4) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.0). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TransKey sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and Translator sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Translator holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TransKey has 13K ratings behind it against 2.4K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 77% of TransKey's written reviews are positive against 40% of Translator's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

TransKey ships an update every 3 weeks, Translator every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
