# Starters vs Alphabet

The clearest difference is ads: Starters at none against Alphabet's shown. Starters also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.0). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Starters sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Alphabet sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Starters ships an update every 7 months, Alphabet every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
