# Raindrop.io vs Colors Extractor

The clearest difference is rating: Colors Extractor at 5.0 against Raindrop.io's 4.5. Colors Extractor also leads on iOS requirement (15.6 vs 17.5). Raindrop.io's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 7 months). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Raindrop.io sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Colors Extractor sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Colors Extractor holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Raindrop.io has 423 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Raindrop.io ships an update every 3 weeks, Colors Extractor every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
