# 老外趣聊 vs 说客英语

The clearest difference is rating: 老外趣聊 at 5.0 against 说客英语's 4.0. 老外趣聊 also leads on iOS requirement (9.0 vs 13.0). 说客英语's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (10 vs 2). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. 老外趣聊 sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and 说客英语 sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

老外趣聊 holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 说客英语 has 10 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 71% of 老外趣聊's written reviews are positive against 78% of 说客英语's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

老外趣聊 ships an update every 2 months, 说客英语 every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
