# 老外趣聊 vs Talkmate

The clearest difference is rating: 老外趣聊 at 5.0 against Talkmate's 4.6. 老外趣聊 also leads on iOS requirement (9.0 vs 11.0). Talkmate's advantage is review sentiment (93% vs 71%) and ratings volume (54 vs 2). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. 老外趣聊 sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Talkmate sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

老外趣聊 holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Talkmate has 54 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 71% of 老外趣聊's written reviews are positive against 93% of Talkmate's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

老外趣聊 ships an update every 2 months, Talkmate every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
