# Minipad vs WriteRight

The clearest difference is rating: WriteRight at 4.7 against Minipad's 4.3. WriteRight also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 17.0). Minipad's advantage is ratings volume (407 vs 13) and review sentiment (86% vs 75%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

WriteRight holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Minipad has 407 ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 86% of Minipad's written reviews are positive against 75% of WriteRight's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
