# Showmars vs Instaeat

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Showmars at 8.9K against Instaeat's 262. Showmars also leads on rating (4.9 vs 4.7). Instaeat's advantage is update cadence (every 2 months vs every 5 months) and review sentiment (82% vs 74%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Showmars holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Showmars has 8.9K ratings behind it against 262, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 74% of Showmars's written reviews are positive against 82% of Instaeat's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Showmars ships an update every 5 months, Instaeat every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
