# MSI Community vs Slate Forums

The clearest difference is rating: Slate Forums at 5.0 against MSI Community's 1.2. MSI Community's advantage is ratings volume (5 vs 1) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 12.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Slate Forums holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 1.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MSI Community has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
